10/24-恐るべしつくばエキスプレス守谷駅
朝から秋晴れのさわやかな天気となりました。この日は、月曜日で店が定休日という
ことで、父、母、そして家の３歳の息子は、8/24に開業したつくばエキスプレスに乗る
目的と母が巣鴨でMy耳かきを作るために東京に出掛けていきました。私は、休日だと
いうのに貧乏暇なしで朝１件配達。午後からも配達がありました。
ただいつもいる息子がおらず、久々に妻と水入らずだと家の中がかなり静かでした。
2時半頃に娘が小学校から帰ってきたのと同じぐらいに「守谷に着いたので迎えに来て
ほしい」という電話が入りました。守谷方面には、配達に限らず、焼肉チェーン店に
焼肉を食べに行ったりしていますが、駅に行くのは初めてでした。まるで新幹線の駅
でもあるんじゃないか？と思わせる大きさと設備（エスカレーターなど）。さすがに
開業したばかりとあって、きれいで輝いて見えました。まだまだ駅前などにビルなどは
建っていませんが（現在建設中のビルも数件あり）その奥には既に住宅街が広がって
いて（昔は住宅などまばらだったのに…）、常総線の方には、昔守谷の友人宅に遊びに
行っていた頃の面影は若干残ってはいるものの、これからの発展を想像させるに十分な
光景でした。恐るべし守谷！
